Summary of Key Responsibilities The Senior Director, US Head of Sales East will support development of the field structure and customer facing strategies to successfully launch Alnylam's investigational therapeutic vutrisiran & continue the launch of ONPATTRO and ensure flawless and compliant coordination across Commercial, Medical Affairs and all additional supporting teams:
Lead a team of Regional Business Directors (RBDs) in the East area, tasked with building their teams and delivering patient and business value. Drive appropriate partnership to ensure seamless field operations among all customer facing functions. Ensure team meets or exceeds targets following all compliance expectations. Develop required competencies and capabilities; set regional objectives and provide input to incentive comp in partnership with BUL. Partner with Sales training leadership to develop coaching frameworks and capability to successfully engage in a hybrid environment. Collaborate with US Marketing, Channel and Reimbursement, Patient Support Services, Business Operations, US Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance and other internal stakeholders to support the field with appropriate materials and programs; monitor progress and drive course correction where necessary. Ensure RBDs understand products and the unique market landscape to meet or exceed targets. Partner with the Field Operations team responsible to establish the call plan, targets, incentives, collect data and measure performance. Establish appropriate US targets and objectives, support definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively monitor and adjust incentives and metrics to drive success. Conduct field visits, regional and national team meetings to align teams, monitor execution, identify issues/opportunities and define new actions. Work with US Marketing team to develop appropriate programs to support customers. Work with National Account Lead, IDN, Medical Affairs and Patient Support Services leadership teams to ensure field coordination, customer satisfaction and apply compliant and quality requirements to all customer facing activities. Be deeply involved in the recruitment and onboarding of the Business Account Executives (BAEs) in conjunction with RBDs. Bring key competitive intelligence and work closely with Market Insights team to develop relevant insights and market solutions; help define sales excellence metrics and monthly dashboards. Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance and other internal stakeholders to ensure tactics and operations are executed with the highest standards of integrity and compliance. Qualifications Seasoned commercial leader with 13
years U.S. leadership experience in sales, marketing, commercial operations, and/or account management in commercial healthcare organizations BA/BS Required MBA and/or other advanced scientific degree preferred (i.e., M.D., PhD or PharmD). Previous second line management experience preferred. Previous experience in additional functions beyond sales (marketing, market access, patient services) is a plus. Working knowledge of Buy/Bill and expertise of Part B & D preferred; knowledge of how to compliantly work with a case management and field reimbursement team required. US product launch experience required with rare/orphan product launch experience strongly preferred. Must be familiar with relevant legal and regulatory environment in biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated leadership in working in network operating model environment. Ability to influence support and action from peers and senior leadership. Proven track record in driving culture of accountability. Effective planning, prioritization, management, and organizational skills. Must be comfortable spending 50% of time traveling to visit customers, attend conferences and attend meetings in the Cambridge (MA) office. Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
