Summary:
The Development Assistant works closely with the Manager of Resource Development to ensure the high-performance operation of Guthrie Resource Development.
Responsibilities include recording and acknowledging donations in Blackbaud's Raisers Edge; donor and prospect correspondence; processing fund- and grant-related disbursements and requests; preparing and communicating reports to internal/external clients including financial reconciliations; maintaining and updating the donor database and client records; responding to donor and colleague inquiries; assisting department staff with projects/duties as assigned; general administrative and logistics support.
Education, License & Cert:

A or B.
S.
in Finance, Accounting, Business, Nonprofit Administration or related field preferred.
Will consider a candidate with the equivalent knowledge with a minimum of five years of experience.
Experience:
Must be a self-motivated, highly-organized individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and integrity.
Attention to detail critical to maintaining professionally-run operations.
Diplomatic skills required to successfully work with internal clients and donors.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Lifelong learner.
One or more years of experience in a related field required.
General or working knowledge of fund raising activities preferred.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office programs including experience with Microsoft Excel required.
Familiarity with database systems required with donor database experience, specifically Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge, preferred.
Essential Functions:
1.
Responds to the inquiries of donors, prospects, colleagues and leaders professionally, confidentially and in a timely manner.
2.
Ensures that all gifts are processed correctly and donors/clients are acknowledged in a timely manner and in accordance with established practices, policies and protocols of the organization.
3.
Receives, processes and monitors fund- and grant-related disbursements and requests.
4.
Continually maintains, updates and validates the integrity of records through Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge donor database management system.
5.
Prepares and communicates donor, prospect, financial, event and fundraising reports to colleagues and leaders.
6.
In coordination with the Manager of Resource Development, supports the month-end and year-end reconciliations with finance.
7.
Assists in the preparation and/or delivery of presentations, packets and mailings for donor/prospect solicitation and stewardship.
8.
Actively participates in and supports the effective operation of the department, special events and campaigns by providing administrative and logistics support to departmental colleagues as needed including, but not limited to, purchase requisition, contract processing, vendor management, maintenance requests, and meeting coordination.

Travel for this position is sometimes required.
2.
Participation in community and employee engagement activities is required.
