Summary:
The Regulatory Specialist supports the Manager of Talent Acquisition relative to regulatory compliance activities for Human Resources.
Completes assessments, audits and monitors performance to assure compliance with internal policy and Human Resources related requirements developed by CMS, the Department of Health and the Joint Commission.
Evaluates and summarizes assessment findings to identify opportunities for improvements.
Facilitates and monitors HR related action plans.
Assists with survey coordination and is the primary contact for regulatory surveyor requests.
Education, License & Cert:
An Associates degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience:
2 years prior experience performing duties specifically relevant to regulatory compliance and HR in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Exposure to and thorough understanding of PC software applications is required.
Knowledge of applicable regulations required.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and effective communication skills.
Essential Functions:
1.
Responsible for the implementation of HR regulatory compliance strategic plan for The Guthrie Clinic.
This includes but is not limited to:
Perform consistent regulatory internal audits to ensure compliance with all HR regulatory standards.
Assists in development of audit tools/checklists.
Keeps records of findings.
Identifies gaps and opportunities.
Prepares report of findings.
Assists in the development and documentation of corrective action plans.
Develop/revise any HR policy as necessary.
Completion of audits on all personnel files upon merger/acquisition of new entities.

Communicates and collaborates with designated departments/leaders related to opportunities for improvement and corrective action plan implementation.
Facilitates workgroup or meeting as necessary.
Stays engaged/ monitors follow up to ensure completion of action plan.
Educates/ coaches HR team members.
Provides formal/ informal presentations as necessary.

Stays up to date on knowledge regarding HR regulations (such as CMS, TJC, DOH, etc.
) Assists with interpretations.
Disseminate to relevant leaders.
Provides/facilitates education/discussion in specific areas or departments.

Assists with survey coordination.
Prepares and assembles required documentation.
Participates during survey.
Assists in follow up and writing corrective action plans and responses for submission to regulatory body.
5.
Works under the direction of the Manager of Talent Acquisition.
Keeps Manager informed and updated on a regular basis.
Informs Manager of any risks identified.
6.
Ensures all required licenses and or certification are verified in a timely manner upon renewal.
Initiates communications with employees, managers and employee/ labor relations as applicable related to verification process.
Other Duties:
Maintain current understanding of employment issues surrounding the hiring process and other related areas.
Conduct process improvement activities on a continual basis.
Attend regular Human Resource meetings as scheduled.
Participate in employee activities as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
